Army Innovation Day 2026

Introduction

Army Innovation Day 2026 (AID26) is focused on Autonomous Mass in Littoral Warfare.

AID26 forms part of Army's ongoing approach to innovation and experimentation, providing opportunities for engagement between Army, industry and academia to explore emerging technologies and future capability challenges.

Through AID26, Army seeks to better understand technologies that may contribute to future land capability and inform future experimentation and capability development activities.

Challenge Statement

The Australian Army is seeking autonomous systems that operate collaboratively in contested littoral environments, while offering scalability and affordability, enabling small units to generate mass without exposing soldiers to enemy observation or direct fire.

Solutions may contribute to strike, sensing, electronic warfare, mobility and logistics effects, with a focus on human-on-the-loop operations.

Request for Information (RFI)

Defence has released the Army Innovation Day 2026 Request for Information (RFI) through AusTender.

The RFI seeks information on technologies that may contribute to future Army capability and support the AID26 challenge theme of Autonomous Mass in Littoral Warfare.
