Biography

Lieutenant Colonel Peter Woodward is an Army Reserve officer in the Royal Australian Infantry Corps. Prior to his current posting as Commanding Officer, 2/17 RNSWR he was J7 (Training) and Liaison Officer to the New South Wales Police Force for Joint Task Force Operations DELUGE and TESTAMENT.

As a result of recent outbreaks of COVID-19 in Victoria, authorities are now increasing state border patrols to more thoroughly regulate interstate travellers. Due to these current demands placed on the South Australian Police Force, the government has sought assistance from the Australian Defence Force. In support of SA Police, Australian Defence Force members have been deployed to the South Australian border, helping to man border crossings and control entry points as part of Operation COVID-19 Assist.
