Australian Army History Unit

The Australian Army History Unit is responsible for developing policy and programs for the collection, conservation, interpretation and promotion of Australian Army history.

Since 1994 the Australia Army History Unit has conducted the Chief of Army's History Conference, and in that time it has evolved to be a leading event on the military history calendar in Australia. The conference attracts speakers both from around Australia and internationally to present on and consider the major challenges faced by the Army throughout its history. This conference presents a unique opportunity for Army’s leaders to consider how Army has confronted and overcome past challenges, and how these solutions provide lessons for the future.
