Brad Copelin

Biography

Warrant Officer Class Two Brad Copelin is a military policeman with a civilian police background who has studied international law at the University of Melbourne. He holds an instructor’s qualification in international humanitarian law with the Australian Red Cross and has recently completed the Asia Pacific Centre for Military Law, Command and Staff Operations Law Course. He has operational experience with the Regional Assistance Mission in the Solomon Islands (2003) and with the Special Operations Task Group (2006). This article is an extract from a research paper submitted on the topic ‘The Trial of War Crimes, Crimes against Humanity and Genocide’. He is currently serving as the Wing Sergeant Major at the Defence Force Corrective Establishment.
