Patrick Hew


Dr Patrick Hew is a senior research scientist with Defence Science and Technology Group, Department of Defence (Australia).  He develops options for using emerging technologies in operations and establishes their operational utility using systems science and operations analysis.  He joined Defence in 2000 with a PhD in mathematics and intelligent information processing systems, and has performed analysis in maritime border protection, amphibious task group operations, integrated air & missile defence, electronic warfare, and submarine operations.  His ongoing research interests include robotics & automation and joint/distributed operations.
