Marcus Doherty
Biography
Captain Marcus Doherty is a scientist, educator, entrepreneur and Army Reserve officer. He is a senior research fellow and lecturer at the Australian National University, where he leads the Diamond Quantum Science and Technology Laboratory and convenes various undergraduate and graduate courses related to quantum science, technology and industry. As an entrepreneur, he is a co-founder and the chief scientific officer of Quantum Brilliance Pty Ltd—an Australian company developing quantum computers based on diamond. As an Army Reserve officer, he is currently serving in the Australian War College and assisting Future Land Warfare Branch, Army Headquarters. His past service includes 12 years as an infantry officer, 6 years as an education officer and two operational deployments.
