Harry Busby

Biography

Major Harry Busby commissioned into The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, a light infantry regiment, in 2016. He carried out the roles of Platoon Commander, Company 2IC, Recce Platoon Commander and Adjutant in the 1st Battalion. He deployed to the Kurdish Region of Iraq with the battalion in 2019, providing training to Kurdish forces. He later moved to the 7th Light Mechanised Brigade Combat Team HQ, leading on ensuring its readiness as part of NATO’s Allied Reaction Force. During his time at the Joint Command and Staff College at Shrivenham in 2024–25, this essay was written and was among the highest graded in the course.
