Felicity Petrie

Biography

Commander Felicity Petrie is an Engineering Officer in the Royal Australian Navy and is posted to the Sea Power Centre—Australia as the Australian War Memorial Navy Fellow. Holding postgraduate degrees in both engineering and strategic studies, Felicity is a Chartered Fellow of Engineers Australia, and a Chartered Marine Engineer with the Institute of Marine Engineers. Felicity’s research interests include naval and maritime technology (particularly relating to the RAN), and reviewing historical case studies to inform policy. She was the lead author for the ADF Maritime Power integration-level doctrine, and her historical piece on the contribution of the Tribal-class destroyer HMAS Arunta (I) in the Second World War Pacific Campaign can be found in the Australian War Memorial’s Wartime magazine, issue 106.
