Dominic Bowen

Biography

Captain Dominic Bowen has a Masters of International Relations from Macquarie University and is completing a law thesis at the University of New South Wales focusing on the principle of distinction. As a civilian, he has served in various humanitarian missions in Pakistan, Iraq, Indonesia, Tonga, the Solomon Islands, Timor, northern Thailand and along the Thai-Burma boarder. He has deployed to Afghanistan with the Special Operations Task Group.

As a result of recent outbreaks of COVID-19 in Victoria, authorities are now increasing state border patrols to more thoroughly regulate interstate travellers. Due to these current demands placed on the South Australian Police Force, the government has sought assistance from the Australian Defence Force. In support of SA Police, Australian Defence Force members have been deployed to the South Australian border, helping to man border crossings and control entry points as part of Operation COVID-19 Assist.
