William F Owen

Biography

William F Owen is a military writer, critic and defence technology journalist, living and working in Israel. He joined the British Army in 1980 and served in both regular and territorial infantry battalions, as well as the Intelligence Corps, until 1993. He has since worked on defence projects in the Middle and Far East, as well as West Africa. He is currently pursuing a Masters Degree by Research at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom.

As a result of recent outbreaks of COVID-19 in Victoria, authorities are now increasing state border patrols to more thoroughly regulate interstate travellers. Due to these current demands placed on the South Australian Police Force, the government has sought assistance from the Australian Defence Force. In support of SA Police, Australian Defence Force members have been deployed to the South Australian border, helping to man border crossings and control entry points as part of Operation COVID-19 Assist.
