Renton McRae

Biography

Chaplain Renton McRae enlisted in the Army in 1982 as an infantry soldier and in 1985 passed selection and served in 3 SAS Squadron. He discharged to train for Christian ministry and in 2006 rejoined the Army as a chaplain. He gained operational experience on Operation Astute (TLBG5) and Operation Slipper (MTF2). In 2012 he completed a Master of Ministry through Charles Sturt University in chaplaincy and counselling with a focus on PTSD and the emergence of moral injury. Chaplain McRae has served as Coord Chaplain of 7 Brigade and the Royal Military College Duntroon. Outside of the uniform he loves to garden, read and reflect on life, enjoying good food and making memories with family and friends.
