Michael Clarke

Biography

Dr Michael Clarke is Associate Professor at the National Security College, Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University, and Director of the ANU-Indiana University Pan-Asia Institute. He specialises in the history and politics of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, Chinese foreign and strategic policy (particularly in Central Asia), US foreign and strategic policy, and global nuclear proliferation and non-proliferation dynamics. He is the author of numerous academic publications including: Xinjiang and China’s Rise in Central Asia – A History (Routledge 2011).
